Thanks for the memories! Let's do it again!

This whole elementary blog idea started in 2000 when a few RHS classmates' emails spread like wildfire. This blog consists mostly of conversations regarding our 40th reunion and, of course, memories from our elementary days. As we approach our 45th reunion, please share your comments, memories and wishes on our RHS Class of '70 Facebook page. Let's start with...
Are you interested in reuniting with your elementary classmates again in 2015?

Who was your favorite teacher?

Without a doubt, my favorite teacher was Mrs. Joan Robinson, 5th grade. She took us on awesome field trips into NYC and had us write our own plays, along with songs and choreography. I feel fortunate to have reconnected with her and enjoy an ongoing relationship with her, here in Sarasota, FL.

Donna, you and I were in the same 5th grade class-- all privileged to have the same great teacher. The imagination and creativity Mrs. Robinson put into everything she did was remarkable. Throughout all my years of education, straight through four years of college, she stands out as being consistently at the top of her game to the extent that, when that school year ended, I was actually sorry to see it go. My friend Susan Terzian Loughlin, also her former student, and I had lunch with her a while back and she mentioned her teaching work with you in Florida. I'm jealous! Seriously, it has to be fun
    (and rewarding) working together.

I remember Mrs. Hamilton, I believe she was my 3rd grade teacher. Having spent 13 yrs. in France, she had gotten special permission to teach our class French. It was only once a week, but it was really nice that someone took the time and patience to teach us something new.
